Opening the doors to her own literary agency is no surprise to those who have known Irene Webb over the years. Her career path has led her from New York publishing companies, Alfred A. Knopf and G.P Putnam, to heading the literary departments at ICM, William Morris and Don Buchwald & Associates.

Webb’s goal is to help West Coast writers find success in film and publishing. It is also her time to give back to the community and to nurture her inner calling. Her current focus is to represent books that improve people’s lives and tell important stories written by celebrities and “name brand” people who have the visibility that publishers are looking for.

Webb is a frequent speaker at Writer’s Conferences, such as Aspen, Albuquerque and San Francisco conferences, and she’ll be at the Yosemite Writer’s Conference this summer.

“Jokes my Father Never Told Me” is a memoir of growing up in the schizophrenic world of celebrity and opulence on the one hand and poverty on the other; of being Jewish as well as African American; of being loved, but being abused by those she loved. Rain Pryor, daughter of famed comedian Richard Pryor, will have her first book published by Regan Books, a division of Harper Collins.

Regan Books will also publish “Photo” by Sammy Davis, Jr. and Burt Boyar. The book is a deluxe collection of stunning, never-before-seen photos taken by the acclaimed performer. Included are photos of Marilyn Monroe, The Kennedy’s, Frank Sinatra, Sean Connery, Martin Luther King and many others.

Pilate's Wife...Historian Antoinette May will publish “Pilate’s Wife,” a historical novel in which we uncover a story of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Pontius Pilate and the amazing events of First Century Rome told through the eyes of Claudia, wife of Pontius Pilate. Publishers worldwide are bidding on the translation rights and William Morrow will publish in October 2006.
